Membership


Full membership of the charity is open to any individual over the age of 18 years, living in Nottingham or the surrounding area, who is interested in the promoting the objects of the charity.


Current subscription is £1 per annum.

Members provide the ‘peoples voice’ and play an important part in deciding the future of The Lenton Centre. They should attend the Annual General Meeting and any Extraordinary General Meeting if possible.

The charity’s objects are:

  • to promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Nottingham and surrounding areas and in particular those in the area of Nottingham known as Lenton without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race, physical and mental disabilities or of political, religious or other opinions, by associating together the said inhabitants and the local authorities, voluntary and other organisations in a common effort to advance education and to provide facilities for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants;

  • establish or secure the establishment of a community centre and to maintain and manage the same (whether alone or in co-operation with any local authority or other person or body) in furtherance of these objects;

  • to promote such other charitable purposes as may from time to time be determined.
